AGARTALA, Feb 19 (TIWN): An honest IAS Officer, who was just doing his duty under a Government after years of retirement is set to be fried on BJP’s politically heated up pan. Yash Pal Singh, the reputed former Chief Secretary of Tripura was brought today morning in Agartala by Tripura Police in Badal Chowdhury case, which was filed based on 2008’s PWD construction work, just because a section of companies who invested from outside were given 10% extra funds, said source. This case left without any clue yet and police failed to submit chargesheet against former CPI-M Minister Badal Chowdhury, former PWD Chief Engineer Sunil Bhowmik and they are now released in bail. Singh is not the first former Chief Secretary to be attacked by BJP Govt but earlier, L K Gupta like honest officer, who was demoted from Chief Secretary post went in voluntary retirement.

Y P Singh came in Biplab Deb Govt’s target when he was appointed as the chairman of TPSC and allegedly he strictly denied any illegal work to do which will affect state’s youths future, said source.

The case against Y P Singh is based on the same case which was filed against former PWD Minister Badal Chowdhury, former Chief Engineer Sunil Bhowmik and police failed to submit any chargesheet against any of them. In this connection, same FIR drama has started as BJP Govt is unable to digest police’s failure to submit chargesheet in Badal Chowdhury case.

Tripura Chief Secretary Yash Pal Singh was arrested on Monday in connection with a fabricated multi-crore PWD scam from Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad district in a joint operation by the police of the two states led by Acting Tripura Director General of Police, Rajiv Singh, a dropped, tainted  former CBI cop.

Singh was Chief Secretary of Tripura and various important works took place under him.
