AGARTALA, Feb 12 (TIWN): A couple Soma Das and her husband Dulal Ghosh were beaten by a group of miscreants in counter of their campaigning against religious dogmatism.

According to Indian constitution, a person has all liberty to do any positive campaigning and having any faith unless it is harming the society. Based on some social media posts, in attempt to create disharmony the step was taken.

A source said, the BJP or its saffron gang is actually using anti-social, drug addicted useless youths to attack on people’s houses in the name of “teaching” religious ethics and Hindu religion’s campaigning. On the other side, people are frustrated of BJP’s hooliganism in the name of religion whereas true Hindu religion never spare violence.

The miscreants claimed themselves as ‘saviour of Hindu religion’, beaten the couple and their old mother in broad day light, in a counter against social media posts.

The incident took place at Kamalpur. Soma Das is a science teacher and often organize programme to spread awareness against superstitions.

Senior advocate Purushottom Roy Barman has condemned the incident, called common men to come forward to hold protest.
