AGARTALA, Feb 11 (TIWN): Starting from Breakfast, lunch and Dinner only 800 rupees is sanctioned by the government for each TSR Jawan per month. With this little amount the pride of our state, our TSR Jawans carry out their days. The government promised to increase the ration to monthly three thousand rupees but nothing has been done till date regarding the issue. Also there is no policy in case of transfer. Though the Commandant and Assistant Commandant are transferred from one place to other, the Jawans are posted at a place for a long period of time. This raised a state of angst and resentment among the TSR Jawans.
Despite of this there are several other problems that the Battalions are facing. According to rule there must be a Subedar Medical assistant, but all the Battalions does not have the same. Subhashnagar 13 no. Battalion and Kochuchara 3 no. Battalion does not have any Head Clerk and Accountant.
One Ashit Kumar Ganguly was the head clerk and Sudarshan Chakraborty was the accountant of Subashnagar battalion. On 31st December last year, they both went on retirement, but till now no one have been appointed on their place.
Also in Kochuchara battalion, there is no UD nor any Accountant. The Battalion comprises a training center along with Headquarter at Kochuchara. Other than salary of the Jawans and Officers, lakhs of rupees comes to the department centering various schemes, but there is no one to maintain the records and manage the accounts.
Most of the Battalions do not have a Stenographer. According to reports, only 4 Battalion contains Stenographers among 12 Battalions in the state. Resulting the battalions are facing several hurdles.
The BJP government which promised to open two more Battalion in the state, and accepted applications for recruitment of youths for jobs, did nothing in this regard till date. Where the youth got a ray of hope, thinking recruitments in the TSR department of the state, the BJP government once again proved it to the fake promise.
