KAMALPUR, November 8 (TIWN) : The DWS, Kamalpur Division is lagging far behind to achieve the announced annual target for 2013-14 fiscal and the departmental report revealed this fact. According to the ‘Annual Report for 2013-2014’ of Drinking Water and Sanitation Wing of Public Works Department, the works in the Durgachowmuhani and Salema block suffered much and these two Blocks constituet the Kamalpur Division.

According to the report, the extension of pipeline for drinking water is the most poor sector. In the Durgachowmuhani Block the target of laying pipeline was set for 50 kms and actually the division achieved only 2.72 kms and more 4 kms was shown as under progress. In the case of Salema Block, 17 kms was achieved from the target of 35 kms and 5 kms more under progress. In case of DTW ( Deep Tube Well) sinking, under Durgachowmuhani Block   3 were sunken against the target of 10 and in the Salema Block 4 was sunken against target of 4 and 1 was shown replaced. In the commissioning of DTW 4 was achieved out of targeted 10 and 5 were in progress under Durgachowmuhani Block. In Salema Block,  6 out of 7 was commissioned and 3 were in progress.

Infact many are of the view that, this is the real saga of Manik’s Golden era where the inefficiency of officials causing loss of public fund and may also cause even death of common man .
