AGARTALA, Jan 27 (TIWN): Internationally acclaimed surgeon Dr. Rathin Datta breathed his last on Monday at the age of 91 in his residence at Kolkata.

Dr Datta was conferred with Padmasri for his immense contribution in 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War following the recommendation of the then congress- TUJS government.
It is to be mentioned that Dr. Datta served the states for decades. His relentless service to the refugees during Bangladesh War is an unmemorable gesture of him for both the countries- India and Bangladesh.
