AGARTALA, November 6 (TIWN): One person was detained in connection with the theft of the two CCTV cameras of SBI, Kunjaban Branch. The person had been identified as Tutan Sarkar, resident of Kunjaban area. However Police sources informed that, theft cases had been registered against the detained person.
Police sources informed that, based on specfic info, Kunjaban Police had detained Tutan Sarkar from his house. He is likely to be connected with the theft case of Kunjaban SBI Branch. It is also being informed that the name of Tutan was earlier registered in the Poilce record books.
Earlier, in a daring bank heist, the Kunjaban branch of the State Bank of India (SBI) was robbed late on Tuesday night but the robbers could rob only two CCTV cameras leaving behind the cash as they could opening of the bank on Wednesday one employee namely Ajoy Kumar Acharjee noticed that one of the bank window was opened. Immediately the employee informed the G.B. out post police station. After were unable to open the safe where it was kept. After the getting the information police along with dog squad rushed to the spot and started investigation.
A police official said that the bank robbery took place under the cover of darkness. Taking advantage of the darkness, the robbers executed their plan and broke open the bank. The official further said that the bank heist was a well thought out plan as the robbers came equipped with all the tools required to carry out the robbery.
After the opening of the bank on Wednesday one employee namely Ajoy Kumar Acharjee noticed that one of the bank windows were opened. Immediately the employee informed the G.B. outpost police station. After getting the information police alongwith dog squad rushed to the spot and started investigation. However there is a conflicting version as to why the robbers could not take away the cash which was kept at the chamber of the safe.
