KAMALPUR, November 5 (TIWN): Another scam of 2,26,00,000 rupees unearthed at PWD (R&B), Kamalpur Division, where the money was embezzled by using fabricated documents. More seriously, the money was shown spent in the name of a bridge by using fabricated documents, though the bridge was completed long back. The fact unearthed in the report of CAG ( Report 1 of 2014).According to CAG report, the department submitted a DPR (Detailed Project Report) in August, 2006 for construction of a bridge over Dhuraicheera ( a local rivulet) to the Govt. of India. Accordingly, the Govt. of India released a fund of 2,62,00,000 rupees for the construction. But in reality, the bridge was already completed in April, 2006.
For ransom looting, the department submitted the DPR after three months of completion. More seriously, the fund sanctioned by the Central Govt. was diverted and expensed in different other purposes and to suppress the fact, the department submitted completion report and utilization certificate to the Govt. of India in April, 2013. Interestingly, though the CAG unearthed this huge scam, no initiative from the part of the ‘Golden’ administration of our state has been seen so far.
Now, will the opposition or others would move in to unearth the complete saga or not is the question. Besides, Tripura's golden age with endless corruptions continues under Manik Sarkar's leadership. People of Tripura must appreciate(?) the innovative ways of swindling funds by this LF government, which certainly deserves a national award for highest number of corruptions.
