TPCC to stage Civil Disobedience Movement on Nov 17, membership collection drive in full swing

Agartala, Nov 05 (TIWN): As part of state wide agitation, Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) will conduct a Civil Disobedience Movement on November 17 at Agartala on different ongoing issues like corruption, Tata Kalibari incident, said TPCC working president- Ashis Saha, here today. TPCC expressed condemn over the role of Modi government for not observing the 30th death anniversary of former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi.

He also informed the central election wing of All India Congress Committee (AICC) will place a Pradesh Returning Officer (PRO) in each Pradesh (state) to observe the election activities accordingly. All the PROs are likely to be placed by AICC within November 7 or 8, added Ashis Saha.

Following different issues, TPCC today conducted an extended committee meeting at Congress Bhavan. In the vital meeting, TPCC decided to launch a Civil Disobedience Movement on the different rising issues at the capital city- Agartala on November 17, said Saha. He further said that preliminary the Congress supporters, workers and TPCC members would gather at Vivekananda Maidan and then they would take part in the Civil Disobedience Movement.

The membership collection drive of TPCC will be concluded on December 31, said Saha. The next organizational election will be conducted based on the collected membership from this drive. On being asked about the latest status of membership collection drive, Saha said it is going on in full swing. The report will be finalized after the conclusion of the drive.

Various multicrore scams- MGNREGA scam in Bishalghar RD block, NHM scam, RMSA scam and Chandrapur brutal incident have also been discussed in the vital organizational meeting. Besides, the TPCC decided to observe 125th Birth Anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on November 13 to 15 in separate corners of the state. The state wide agitation launched by Congress will be continuing accordingly, added Saha.  

During the organizational meeting conducted by TPCC, Tripura Opposition Leader- Sudip Roy Barman, all the district level/block level Congress presidents, veteran Congress leaders, TPCC members and others were remained present.
