AGARTALA, Dec 26 (TIWN): Big trees are being fell down across Agartala city, erupting massive resentment among the public as Tripura capital city is losing its greenery.
Whether Forest Dept’s permission was taken for the tree chopping it is unclear.
Old, big trees were fallen down toady the North Gate area and also more ahead as Govt to kick off road expansion projects in the Agartala city to reduce traffic jam.
This road expansion has called massive deforestation amid Agartala city’s pollution already on peak, density of trees are very less.
Social media users have expressed grievance over the cutting down of the trees. The North gate area is used for reaching Secretariat, Airport and in office times traffic jams are being observed. In this condition, Govt has decided to expand the roadways.
