DHARMANAGAR, Dec 23 (TIWN): North Tripura police under the leadership of SP Bhanupada Chakraborty nabbed a School teacher with 8,000 Yaba tablets.

Accused teacher namely Soumen  Acharjee has been caught by the police receiving  secret information from its sources along with a bike. According to reports the accused is a teacher of Deochara School at Dharmanagar. Market price of the drugs is around 40 lakh rupees. During this raid, 2 drug smugglers eloped with bikes.  The police said to arrest the traffickers as soon as possible.

In the expedition , Assam Riffles Jawans along with Tripura Police helped SP North Bhanupada Chakraborty.

Where the teaches are said to form the spinal cord of the society, this type of incident of involvement of a teacher with drug smuggling has resulted in huge resentment in the area.
