Agartala, Nov 4 (TIWN): The central government warns Tripura including other states of North-Eastern region to be alerted on the rising militancy issue. Besides, Indo-Bangla international border including Tripura-Mizoram and Tripura-Assam interstate borders, alert has also been issued in the different airports too.
According to the sources, following the alert from Centre, the state police have increased the security arrangements in the different corners of the state. A vast number of state intelligence bureaus have been deployed in the different parts of the state to keep close surveillance said a source.
The Centre also alerted the Border Security Force (BSF) and central security forces working in the state to be prepared. According to the police sources, police made additional security arrangements in the capital city- Agartala and other bordering areas. Police are also continuing raid in the vehicles and watching the movement of the people, said a communiqué inside police department. Besides, police patrolling has been increased on the Assam-Agartala National Highway.
According to the sources, recently a 7-member team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) visited at west Bengal for the investigation into Burdwan blast case. During the investigation, the team found lurid information on militancy and sent the report to the central ministry. After receiving the information, Union Home Ministry alerted Tripura including other states of north-eastern region marking that the Militant groups are using Tripura and other states of north-eastern region as corridor.
It is learnt that, after a sleep for long period two banned militant forces of Tripura- National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) again started their activities actively in the different parts of the state. To provide the overall security in Tripura, police administration is carrying out different efforts actively.
