Agartala, Nov 4 (TIWN): Tripura Doctors’ Forum (TDF) will knock the door of Tripura High Court tomorrow and will file writ petition seeking justice pertaining to the cancellation of Dr. Dilip Kumar Das’s nomination paper (National Council) for forthcoming Tripura State Medical Council’s election in scrutiny.

The TDF members alleged that, the authority has cancelled Dr. Dilip Kumar Das’s nomination paper unlawfully under the shadow of Melarmath, following a small mistake which is considerable. As a result, the candidate for National Council Dr. Abhijit Datta of Melarmath supported panel will be elected without any contest.

They also alleged, on Saturday, two nomination papers of the candidates for the national council were accepted during the scrutiny. But the scrutiny authority informed yesterday that Dr. Dilip Kumar Das’s nomination paper was cancelled.

Though several questions were raised during the scrutiny about the incomplete and faulty nomination papers of 3 candidates of Melarmath supported panel, the authority only cancelled Dr. Manashi Saha Roy’s nomination paper, said TDF.

Following the biasing in scrutiny of nomination papers, Tripura Doctors’ Forum (TDF) will move to Tripura High Court and will file a writ petition on tomorrow, said a source.

It is to be mentioned here; following the first ensuing election of Tripura State Medical Council, altogether 16 candidates from two panels- All Tripura Government Doctors’ Association (ATGDA) alliance with IMA and Retired Doctors’ Association and another panel including the members of all organization alliance with Tripura Doctors’ Forum had submitted their nomination papers.

The ensuing election of Tripura State Medical Council (TSMC) is scheduled to be held on December 24 while the vote counting will be conducted on December 25 to December 27. The returning Officer will declare the election result on December 27.

A total of 1182 voters will decide the fate of 7 candidates for State Council and 1 contestant for National Council respectively. Both panels are gearing up with continuing silent campaigns in favour of the candidates through Facebook, Twitter, Google (+), SMS and E-mail.
