TULAMURA / UDAIPUR, November 4 (TIWN): Another incident of rape took place in Tulamura and again the main culprit is a CPI(M) youth leader. On Sunday afternoon the victim lodged an FIR in the Kakraban Police station and police registered a case (Case no-170/14) under Section 417/376/314 of IPC. It is learnt that, with the promise of marriage Hrishikesh Som (47) ,S/O- Sujit Som of Som Para Tulamura under Kakraban Police station continuously raped a tribal widow of the same locality and as result of it the victim Malati Malsum(changed name) became pregnant and on last Saturday night she was forcibly made to deliver baby. After the delivery at around 1am on Saturday night when the new born baby was not accepted by Hrishikesh's family, the victim left the baby in the house of Hrishikesh on Sunday soon after the dawn broke. And after this under the pressure of the villagers the victim came to the police station at 1.30pm on Sunday and lodged the case.

     Soon after the getting the complaint Kakraban police station led by Officer in Charge Jatindra Das rushed to Som Para to rescue the baby. But police did not find the baby in the place as described by the victim widow. However, after a long search police found that new born baby was thrown in to a ditch inside a jungle near the house of Hrishekesh .Police recovered dead child and took it to the Kakraban police station But no Postmortem was done on Sunday. However, on Monday at 3pm the postmortem was completed. O C Kakraban Jatindra Das told TIWN over phone," Ever since I have joined in Kakraban Police Station , I have dealt with several rape cases. But this incident surely shocked me. Apart from being a policeman I am a human and a parent. But cases like such only makes me think what kind of work we are to do! Yes, we are compelled to do such types of works as to me no job means no bread. Still as a man I can't bear the sight of such a little boy forced to die. From Tuesday itself we will start investigation in this case.":

     Jatindra Das said that the tribal widow has been working in the house of Hrishikesh as maid servant. Gradually they became intimate and Hrishikesh has been raping the woman from time to time. But when the widow became pregnant he refused to take responsibility of the parentage of the baby. He said," The woman complained that a local doctor gave her an injection and after this she gave birth of a child. However,:the woman did not recognize the doctor. We are hopeful that very soon we can identify who this doctor is. " But even before the FIR was lodged, Hrishikesh went in to hiding. Till now he is absconding. A section of people living in Som Para alleged that Hrishikesh is now under well protection of some influential leaders of the ruling party.
