IOCL Crucial Meet on Fuel Crisis: State Govt. proposed for 375 tankers per month: IOCL stands at 334

AGARTALA, November 3 (TIWN): Tripura Food Minister Bhanulal Saha on Monday had a crucial meeting with the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) delegation comprising of General Manager Dipankar Ray, Deputy General Manager LM Fukal, Senior Divisional Sales Manager Mohan Singh and other local officials regarding fuel crisis of the state.

During the crucial meet on Monday the State Govt. proposed for at least 375 oil tankers per month, whereas the IOCL officials stand at 334. While talking to the media persons at the civil secretariat Food Minister Bhanulal Saha said that 375 oil tankers operation at the state will be able to meet the demands of the consumers. On the other hand IOCL officials agreed to rest at 334 tankers whereas earlier the officials made 258 tankers operational.

While adding Minister Bhanulal Shaha said that the IOCL dealers meeting with him on Monday proposed to fill up the Dharmanagar fuel tank enough, so that if there is any fuel crisis in the capital city Agartala and other parts the fuel can be brought from Dharmanagar. The Dharmanagar fuel tank has its capacity of 25 lakh liters. Moreover a less tankers can be made operational for fuel transportation once the Dharmanagar fuel tank is filled enough, the minister mentioned.

However, later while briefing Minister Bhanulal Saha said that the LPG gas cylinders has been made operational now to cover the Khowai and Dhalai District though earlier it used to cover the North only. And to reduce the backlog the officials are working hard enough. Moreover the state govt. made a proposal to increase the man power at the plant if needed to move at least 72,000 gas cylinders per month with 24 trucks. The total consumer of the LPG cylinder are 4, 37, 465 whereas the active consumers rests at 3, 73, 989. Beside the state govt. has recently given its land for building up a new plant at the West District of Tripura, he added.
