AGARTALA, Dec 14 (TIWN): Tripura Congress activists have staged protest before West Agartala Police Station today seeking action against Police Officer Sibu Ranjan Dey and BJP activists who were engaged in massive violence on the Strike Day which was called on December 12 in a protest against Police led attack on Congress activists and journalists at Post Office Chowmuhani on December 11 during an Anti-CAB protest. Tripura Youth Congress President Pujan Biswas said that even after having adequate numbers of evidences police haven’t taken any action neither against the BJP miscreants who in broad day light attacked on Youth Congress activists, beaten in front of Police nor took action against the Police officials who illegally entered Congress Bhawan and attacked the Party workers, stretched them out of the Party office.

Numbers of Congress activists were injured on the Strike day although no violence was done by the party activists. Indeed, the strike turned a 100% success without any picketing done by the Congress workers across Tripura. 

“We are doing peaceful picketing but all of a sudden West PS Officer Sibu Ranjan Dey with a huge numbers of Police officials held attacks on the Congress activists and used slang language and brought the workers out and arrested, which is totally illegal, but even after our complaint no FIR  was lodged. Today, in written form we have submitted for FIR and also gathered evidences when BJP activists attacked on our workers”, said a Youth Congress leader today while addressing media after submitting FIR lodging complaint in the West Agartala Police Station.

Youth Congress had called for a strike  for 24 hours in protest against Police led massive attack on the Congress activists and journalists, women party workers on December 11 evening when agitating against controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB). The incident took place when along with whole nation, Congress in Northeast Tripura’s capital city Agartala also conducted a protest rally against CAB but before the rally could march, huge numbers of forces were deployed to stop the rally which created a chaos and all of a sudden, Police, TSR led barbaric attack, lathi charge injured many. This attack did not spare journalists, photographers and women activists of the party. The police forced entered the Congress Bhawan and attacked Congress activists and used severe slang words against the leaders, workers. Journalists gheraoed Police officers who were present on the present to sought reason why did police attacked on the camera men. It has been alleged that targeting people with cameras in hands, police held the attack.

But on the next day of strike once again, the Congress activists were attacked and BJP miscreats attacked them before police
