AGARTALA, November 3 (TIWN): Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), which was established on November 3, 1980, in Punjab to fulfil the dreams of Bhagat Singh, celebrated its 35th foundation day at Melarmath here today.
DYFI state unit secretary Amal Chakranorty said that there are several organisations in the country that had devoted themselves to the uplift of the youth and the poor, but only the DYFI had responded successfully to their problems.
He further said that this is the age of information technology and the members of DYFI should make optimum use of it for taking the welfare activities of the State Government to the people. He called upon the members of DYFI to work for the society.
He also said it was Bhagat Singh who had fought against the capitalists in his youth and had sacrificed his life for the freedom of the country.
DYFI Tripura certainly needs a new leader as present Secretary Amal Chakraborty is brother of scam tainted BDO Bimal Chakraborty who is under arrest for involvement in Rs. 50 crore MGNREGA scam.
