KOLKATA, Dec 6 (TIWN): As Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb who himself during his West Bengal campaigning in November month said that his father had Bangladeshi Citizenship and thus if NRC is held then in Tripura, then he will lose his Chief Ministry first, now West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee herself asked Centre to do NRC in Tripura first where Chief Minister Biplab Deb himself will lose Chief Ministry if NRC is conducted.
Tripura CM in last month during his political visit told West Bengal media, if NRC happens he will lose his Chief Ministry first.
This video went viral in social media.
Earlier, Chief Minister Biplab Deb’s mother Meena Deb in an interview out of emotion said that she came in Tripura during wars from East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) when she was pregnant but long after Biplab Deb was born then his father came.
Also a regional party had filed in Supreme Court a petition seeking NRC and seeking details of Biplab Deb’s citizenship which is under doubt.
