NEW DELHI / AGARTALA, Nov 16 (TIWN): Congress demanded to elevate Tripura ADC to Territorial Council today. As the ADC Election is ahead, Congress party has cleared its stands on the indigenous issues and indigenous populated ADC’s demands. In a press conference, former MLA Rajeswar Debbarma and former MLA Subal Bhowmik have told media about the agenda of the Congress for the ADC Election. Addressing media, Rajeswar Debbarma said, “Congress is strict to its all stands for the indigenous people which it said earlier. We demand more power to ADC so that various developments can take place. Education sectors should grow fast and Medical College to other Colleges may build thereâ€. Leader Subal Bhowmik said, “Congress always was and will be against Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB). We also demand the ADC election must be conducted by the Election Commission of India but not by State Election Commissionâ€. Subal Bhowmik further added, “In Tripura the ADC Election is controlled by State Election Commission but it should not beâ€.“We want to know what is the status of BJP about Kokborok language’s script. Indigenous people demand the Roman script whereas the BJP wants Hindi script. The former CPI-M Govt wanted a Bengali script. But Congress now demands a Roman script for the indigenous peopleâ€, said Subal Bhowmik.
