AGARTALA, Nov 14 (TIWN): Based on the Hunger-Index, Congress on Thursday has hit Prime Minister Modi and his Govt’s wrong policy which has lifted Indian’s “Hunger” status. Addressing media Advocate Pojush Kanti Biswas, not only for economy but even for the sake of secularism, Jawaharlal Nehru has become very important who was the symbol of the secularism and today the Modi Govt is playing only politics of communalism. “India is in the 102nd of hunger-index country, nutrition is down and if it continues like this, then soon Indians to die in starvation”, said Biswas. long with the whole nation Tripura has also paid tribute to Jawaharlal Nehru on his birth anniversary.In every Congress Bhawan Nehru was paid tribute today. Advocate Pijush Kanti Biswas further said, "Today India is behind Bangladesh in Economy, behind Srilanka too. Recently Modi went to sell out India, however, due to Congress’s protest Govt stepped downed that decision, otherwise India would have been sold to foreign. Thus, Nehru is very important as this country is suffering due to much communalism and hatred".

It’s to be mentioned here that the Indian National Congress  also paid tribute to the nation’s first prime minister on the micro-blogging site twitter.

India ranked 102 out of 117 countries in the Global Hunger Index (GHI) 2019 that is placed at much below to its South Asian neighbours such as Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan. The GHI report pointed out that "India is suffering from a serious hunger problem". The Global Hunger Index measures countries on a 100 points scale, where a score of 0 (zero) is considered as best performing countries and  100 is the worst.

The Global Hunger Index report, prepared and published jointly by Irish aid agency Concern Worldwide and German organization Welt Hunger Hilfewas, calculated on the basis of four indicators that are - child mortality, undernourishment, child wasting (weight for age) and child stunting. The major focus of the index was on the relation between climate change and hunger. The report also explains the impact of extreme weather on food production and food security.
