AGARTALA, Nov 13 (TIWN): After CPI-M successfully conducted the biggest ever rally in Agartala today, Agriculture Minister Pranajit Sinhgha Roy held a press conference saying, the recent reports of media about the agro-economy are not totally fact.
He cited example that when CPI-M demanding crop buying at Rs. 27 in their time, never attempted to buy crops via FCI. He also cited how BJP Govt is buying pineapples at Rs. 20 but earlier the price was only Rs. 7 to Rs. 8.
However, amid all allegation exchanges, media reports and surveys many times disclosed downed markets, slow economy and farmers were highly affected due to withdraw of subsidies in various agri-items.

Earlier, Tripura farmers never had to depend upon FCI, but today at loss also they are selling their crops as the economy is slow.
Today farmers rally gathered 40,000 people in the capital city Agartala, although all the public could not join the main agitation spot as the rally was dismissed at the last moment by the Govt.
