AGARTALA, Nov 13 (TIWN): Before Modi Govt came in power 1400 crores of funds came in Tripura just for MGNREGA and by those funds, not only 100-days works but from flower gardens to fruit gardens, water-bodies and all developments held under the previous Left Govt, said former MP Jitendra Choudhury while addressing in farmers rally on Wednesday.
“Since Modi Govt came in power, this fund from Rs. 1400 crores gradually turned Rs. 400 cores depriving people of Tripura with thousand crores”, he said.
Jitendra Choudhury then explained how BJP occupied all the Panchayats by force and now there is no record of expenditures but the online data of few works show that BJP’s Mandal-leader, Morcha leaders are the main beneficiaries.
“Those Mandal leaders never go to the field but enjoying 90 to 98 days of mandays but the people who deserve them, they left without any benefits. Hardly 36 days of works are given to them which are also paid not properly. It means from 1400 crores first it was slashed in 400 crores and now those 400 crores are enjoyed by the BJP mandal leaders”, he added.
