‘Many laws in India are yet for namesake’ : Minister Santana Chakma

AGARTALA, Nov 12 (TIWN): In a programme organized for Animal Law Sensitization, Tripura Minister for Social Welfare and Social Education and Animal Resource Development Santana Chakma said that although India has so many laws but could not implement it properly as public are yet to be sensitized.
Chakma who was addressing in the workshop said, not only laws for the animals but in the past many years India has developed so many laws including law against child labour but how much practically we are successful ?
Quoting Mahatma Gandhi, the Minister said that the nation which is known for its kindness, known for its generousness, how can be so brutal to the animals ?
