UDAIPUR (Gomati Dist, Tripura), Nov 3 (TIWN): Udaipur sub-division's R K Pur Police Station SI-Pritam Dutta led brutal murder case and BJP Govt’s muteness over the whole incident has shocked the people of Tripura. Although BJP has maintained silence over the issue, but today former CM Manik Sarkar's visit crowded the victim's home with many allegations they brought against Police Dept of Udaipur. Over the custodial unnatural death of 19 years old boy Mangal Das in R K Pur Police Station in Udaipur, Gomati District, former Chief Minister, Manik Sarkar today met victim’s mother and local people of Matabari area, said, “The total incident is very mysterious and Police’s activities from beginning to end of burning Mangal Das's dead body is very, very surprising”. Manik Sarkar also said, doing post mortem itself signaled mysterious death of that boy. Not only this, Mangal’s mother was missing for a long time and a section of locals wanted to manipulate the statement saying, “Police offered the dead body to Mangal’s mother”, but later when he met Mangal’s mother, she told Manik Sarkar in front of media that her son’s dead body was never handed over to her rather when she was unconscious police took her thumb impression to burnt the body.

Manik Sarkar said, “As said by all, Mangal was threatened by police while arrestin, saying that they (Police) will see him. This threat during arrest had triggered tensions and on 6th day of his police custody he died”.

At first Manik Sarkar (before meeting victim's mother) said, “Police handed-over the body to mother according to local”, but after Mangal Das’s mother denied that claim, Manik Sarkar told media, “I will modify my statement” and later again he talked to media before leaving the home of deceased Mangal Das.

After meeting her, Manik Sarkar told media, “Without handing over the dead-body to family, burning the body itself signalling many things.

“Police did not bother to listen to her (victim’s mother) during the whole episode. Never the body was handed-over to his mother. This generates further question”, Sarkar said.

Manik Sarkar further added, why for a section of police, whole administration of police should be blamed ? There must be actions against such police officials involved in crimes.

The Leftist leader further assured Mangal Das’s mother that everyone are with her.

Deceased Mangal Das, a theft accused was allegedly under target of police under certain mysterious reasons, which has triggered question, whether Mangal was linked to any such issue which may politically affect the ruling party as the ruling party including the present BJP CM remained totally silent over the issue. This gives strength when BJP party has revealed itself full of criminality and murders, manipulating police actions are common under the party intrigues.

On Saturday, DYFI leaders met SP Gomati Ramesh Reddy, expressed resentments over the weakness of the case, whereas a 19 years boy can not die in unnatural death unless physically or mentally this boy had not been tortured so brutally. Addressing media, SP Gomati Ramesh Reddy said that the post mortem report yet has not come, whereas the deceased Mangal Das’s mother said once her boy died in her unconsciousness, taking her thumb impression, Mangal was burnt by police. Addressing media, DYFI Secretary (Tripura) Nabarun Deb said, “Mangal Das was only 19 years old boy. He was in 7-days-police remand whereas on the 6th day of his police remand, he died mysteriously and his mother was not informed and she was only informed after her son’s body was taken to morgue. We demand suspension of SP Pritam Dutta right now”.

“Such barbaric incidents are going on across Tripura. How can a young boy die in custody ? Judicial probe is needed in this alleged murder case. Udaipur has become a den of mafias and state has seen how mafia led attacks on rallies, public, even in Durga puja was seen. When in Agartala in case of Badal Choudhury police are doing access but in rest 364 days police are inactive and in violence cases there is not a single example where a person was sent in 1-day police custody”.

While talking to media she said, "They killed my son by beaten him badly. If my son was ill than how they can put him in the court? And why they did not inform me before his death?  This was a complete murder. And the main Culprit is SI of Radha Kishore Pur PS Pritam Datta. I filed case in the court against police. I want justice for my son. " such words from a mother made question on humanity, if it still exists or not.

Even an eye witnessed neighbour of Mangal Das said that while police was taking Mangal with them they were beating him badly and one constable was saying that he made them search for him for a long and now that they've grabbed him they will not let him go, they will kill him.
