Today TIWN is publishing as reminder how without tender Northeast festival 2018 turned direct benefits for BJP leaders and BJP membership holder businessmen. The Northeast festival was held on November 15, 2018. This Northeast Festival turned a bumper bonanza for all corrupt leaders under BJP as crores are looted by BJP’s top mafia Tapas Ghosh type of persons even didn’t supply mosquito nets to 500 plus delegates. No other Minister was allowed to interfere in the programme except CM Biplab Deb and Pratima Bhowmik however.BJP backed teachers and few other depts govt employees who are top Sangha leaders took active participation in the financial irregularities where no tender was followed. Opposition had demanded of "Judicial Investigation in the scam" whereas the State Govt failed to answer anything in damage repairing.

This is not the single scam allegation of scam in the programme but in the name of Neermahal trip, State Govt under organizing committee has charged the outsider artists who came to perform in Northeast Youth Festival to buy "tickets" to enter the Neermahal. The organizing committee had invited the performers to come in the 'tour' across historical places of Tripura, whereas from Neermahal huge amounts have been collected from the performers.

It has been known that for one plate food, Govt had shown expenditure above Rs. 600 to Rs. 700 whereas foods are of very low quality.

With all such scam allegations, Congress demanded Judicial Investigation, said that instead of doing proper food arrangement for the performers in the hostels, Kamalpur like places were also decorated with flex of Rs. 36 lakh with banners of the CM.

The then Congress President Birjit Sinha has accused Chief Minister is behind this scam as Sports Minister Manoj Deb was also sidelined from the expenditure issue. CPI-M also had condemned the ongoing scams.
