AGARTALA, Oct 23 (TIWN): Inspite of knowing, Badal Choudhury is a brain stroke patient and having heart disease, BJP Govt and police are hell bent to put Choudhury in custody. Today crossing all the barriers, BJP Govt Doctors were dispatched in a private hospital ILS to give a discharge order to Badal Choudhury and Govt Doctors forced Badal Chowdhury to talk to the Doctors amid his critical condition. After medical analysis, Govt Doctors have confirmed that Badal Choudhury has undergone two mild-strokes, certifying the MRI report. But reports claimed that police (under order from Tripura’s Saddam) is still eager to put Badal Choudhury in custody and to produce him before special judge just to satisfy BJP and its Chief Minister’s inflated ego against Badal Choudhury. CPI-M State Secretary Gautam Das stated, “In spite inhuman barbaric BJP government tried to take him to special judge. Moreover police also don’t receive case history”. So far the report confirmed, Badal Chowdhury suffered mild heart stroke according to MRI Report. Right now, his health condition is critical after the doctors visited him but he was forced to shift from ICU to the General ward.

So far the report confirmed, Badal Chowdhury suffered mild heart stroke according to MRI Report. Right now, his health condition is critical after the doctors visited him but he was forced to shift from ICU to the General ward.

According to source Dr Ajit Choudhury(MD Medicine) try to meet his elder brother in ILS, but police forcefully stop to meet his brother.

Earlier wife of Badal Choudhury when came to High Court from ILS said on October 21, “He was not in home for many days and thus didn’t take medicine and now his health condition is critical. He didn’t talk to anyone, unable to eat. His situation is critical because he had undergone surgeries and also brain stroke. Last time after he stopped a medicine after surgery he suffered from brain stroke and now also he didn’t take that medicine. I talked to doctor. Doctor has prescribed brain-MRI now and for that I had to talk to doctor.

The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the arrest of Com. Badal Chowdhury, leader of the CPI(M) in Tripura, while he was in the ICU of a private hospital in Agartala.

“The BJP state government has levelled false charges against Badal Chowdhury concerning his tenure as the PWD minister, in the Left Front Government, in the execution of certain projects. Other senior officials including the former Chief Secretary of the state have been named in the FIR. This shows the extent to which the BJP government can go to level baseless charges and target the CPI(M) leadership”, said the press note. The arrest of Badal Chowdhury while he was in hospital and when the Tripura High Court was to pass an order on his anticipatory bail application shows the vindictive nature of the action. Such actions will not suppress the CPI(M) nor tarnish its image as the people of Tripura know very well the exemplary and honest record of the Left Front government. The CPI(M) will fight the case against Badal Chowdhury both legally and politically”, said the Polit Bureau in a statement.

Displaying inhumanity, Tripura Police have continued to harass brain-stroke, heart-disease patient, opposition MLA Badal Choudhury who was admitted on October 21 in ILS hospital in Agartala. The arrest was based on an FIR against him which was politically motivated case under the BJP Govt’s pressure according to the media reports and also legal cell of the opposition CPI-M. Badal Choudhury’s anticipatory bail plea was rejected by District court after a hearing till night 12 O’Clock on 16th October and since then Police continued to raid for Badal Choudhury whereas the Govt suspended huge numbers of Govt officials including police top officials as Badal Choudhury remained untraced. After that Badal Choudhury filed a petition in the High Court of Tripura demanding anticipatory bail but before the final order, out of week-long mental tortures and lack of medicines, on October 21 night Choudhury was hospitalized and then when media and opposition top leaders visited the hospital, police force too rushed to the hospital and arrested Badal Choudhury whereas Badal Choudhury’s advocates said, he was never arrested but surrendered.

However, seeing the urgency of police to Govt top layers to take Badal Choudhury in custody, eminent lawyer Bikash Bhattacharjee said that the urgency of the Govt level proves clearly it is a politically motivated case against MLA Badal Choudhury.

Bikash Bhattacharjee said, “The way the Attorney General is keen to take Badal Choudhury into custody it displays it as a politically motivated case totally”.

On the other side, sources informed that if anticipatory bail plea is rejected in High Court, Badal Choudhury will move to Supreme Court in anticipatory bail demand.

CPI-M had moved to High Court demanding anticipatory bail for former PWD Minister Badal Choudhury, challenging the District Court’s verdict on 16th October which rejected the bail plea of Badal Choudhury.

On October 22 High Court was scheduled to pronounce the hearing of the bail-petition, but on October 21, Choudhury was shown arrested when he was in ICU. Tomorrow High Court to heard the petition on Badal Choudhury’s bail.
