AGARTALA, Oct 23 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Wednesday while addressing in an inauguration programme of a constructed Park at Satlakhi Pond, Melarmath in Agartala said that Tripura Govt has adopted the policy of tender and booking, saying, from now Housing Board made flats will be first opened for ‘booking’ and once the ‘booking’ is done, then construction will be started.

He said, earlier, people who have money as a status symbol used to buy flats in Kolkata but now people’s mindsets are being changed. People of Tripura now choosing to buy flats in Agartala,  not in Kolkata.

“3 spots have  been selected for flat constructions and calls were given for tender. Then we decided to keep the tender in wait as booking must be done first. First buildings will be created and then booking will be done……………it is not working. We have seen in past how the old buildings are left without interest”

CM also said, Kaman Chowmuhani and near Bhagat Singh flats are booked and at Nandan Nagar also 85% flats are booked.

“Nobody could imagine earlier that booking will be done first in Tripura. It was culture of big cities like Kolkata, but now 1000 flats are booked without construction which is a great sign”, said CM.
