AGARTALA, Oct 21 (TIWN): The ongoing blood crisis which led former Health Minister Sudip Barman to donate blood at the midnight at GB hospital on yesterday is due to a drastic fall of blood donation campaigning in this poverty gripped state Tripura recently, as a major section of institution and public stopped blood donation camps with slogan of “No Free Medical Service, No Free Blood”. This dangerous slogan was on the web in last one month calling Tripura people not to donate blood as the Govt lost its humanity. In such a condition, after being informed about blood crisis leading a patient’s death, BJP’s sacked Minister Sudip Barman is praised by social media users after he displayed humanity by rushing to GB hospital and donated blood to an emergency patient.Sudip Barman is across social media since yesterday night for his emergency help at midnight. According to report, one Manir Hossain posted in social media at 11.20 pm on yesterday that a person needs A+ blood urgently. Barman was informed by his wife about the blood crisis matter.

Sudip Barman rushed to the hospital and witnessed severe blood crisis in blood bank.

Then he himself donated blood to the patient. Barman called common men to donate blood to mitigate the ongoing blood crisis.

The blood donation programmes were decreased after the BJP Govt scrapped free medical services in Govt hospitals. It was a part of public agitation against Govt’s inhuman scrapping of free medical services.

However, Sudip Barman requested public to donate blood so that common men get certain reliefs.

Tripura which tops in blood donation campaigning has kept high-level-record of stocks in the blood banks and on the ground of humanity people donate blood for each-other, but as the Government has imposed fees on Govt medical services, thus internet users have called for no more blood donation as people will die anyway if can not pay for treatment.

Govt has imposed fees on the hospital service due to which poor and specially middle class people are suffering a lot. Also report came about death of a person after his family failed to provide Rs. 10,000 for operation.

In this situation, netizens had asked each-others to stop donating blood.

Now from entry to food to bed all are chargeable in Govt hospitals with relaxations for the BPL families.
