AGARTALA, Oct 17 (TIWN): “RSS’s had zero role in Indian independence movement, because their main was not British but from the beginning to end their sole enemies have been Muslims”, commented Politburo member Prakash Karat on CPI-M party’s foundation day programme in Agartala town hall.

Karat said, “Before British, Muslims ruled India and thus RSS’s agenda was after British again Muslims should not rule here”.

“This was the main cause why RSS never participated in independent movement. But British at the very beginning put Communists in the jail and also banned the party. But British never touched RSS”, he said.

“Not a single RSS leader was arrested because British wanted the continuation of Hindu-Muslim tension”, Prakash Karat said.

He also said, when Sardar Vallab Bhai Patel was Home Minister and Jawaharlal Nehru was PM on that time RSS was banned because RSS was involved in killing of Mahatma Gandhi.

“This is the difference between Communists and RSS. Communist was banned by British and RSS was by Govt of India. After Gandhi ji’s murder, in Pune RSS celebrated, distributed sweets”, he said.

Karat also mentioned, it was Vallab Bhai Patel who wrote against RSS and moved for ban of RSS. This is the reason the values of Indian independent movement are not supported by the same people who are ruling India today.
