AGARTALA, Oct 17 (TIWN): Followed by arrest of CPI-M top leader Narayan Kar and police’s activeness with fabricated case against MLA Badal Choudhury, CPI-M State Secretary Gautam Das has said in India first time, a DGP was seen in Tripura neck-deep busy in nightlong raids throughout MLA hostel to other spots. His statement came after District Court rejected bail plea of Badal Choudhury after wholeday’s wait and day-night police led gherao in the Melarmath party office, raid in the Daily-Desher-Katha newspaper office. Today at the same time, CPI-M’s top leader Nayaran Kar was arrested today morning under Section 353, 212, 120.It has been alleged that Narayan Kar stopped Badal Choudhury’s bodyguard to enter the CPI-M party office in Melarmath. However, the bodyguard is a Govt employee who has now gone against the party, alleged a source.The case was registered with case no-269/19.Nayaran Kar was taken by police in latenight and after interrogation arrested him.The action came in search of Badal Choudhury who has appealed in the High Court demanding anticipatory bail which was rejected by the District court on yesterday.
On yesterday, after whole day long wait, finally West District Court at midnight has rejected former PWD Minister Badal Choudhury’s anticipatory bail plea.
Police raided at least 5 major places to find out Badal Choudhury which still continues.

Badal Chowdhury’s Advocates said, today bail petition will be filed in the High Court of Tripura and a source said if High Court rejects, CPI-M to immediately approach to the Supreme Court. I.O. has also submitted a petition on 15.10.2019 in this case praying for police remand of the petitioner for 7 (seven) days in case he surrender.
FIR was lodged against Tripura CPI-M former PWD Minister Badal Choudhury at West Agartala Police Station with Case No-251/19. The charge against Badal Choudhury was imposed is that in various constructions including road, bridge, Govt quarters Rs. 600 crores were invested by the then Govt but 10% extra was given to the construction agencies.
