AGARTALA, Oct 15 (TIWN): Advocates of Badal Choudhury have alleged SP West Ajit Pratap Singh tried to influence the Govt lawyer and the hearing procedure by entering in the court premise on Monday, whereas he has no function in this case.

The advocates said, an SP can not involve in such cases and enter in court like this for talking to PP.

“The issue is of 2008 which was outcome of a cabinet decision, approved by Public Accounts Committee later. So there is no ground of the case, but we will see the issue later and till now we were working for the bail as FIR was lodged. This is totally politically motivated case”, said the advocates.

Court on yesterday accepted interim bail of former PWD Minister Badal Choudhury but at night violating court’s order police rejected the bail plea of the former Minister.

On being asked by media how SP West and SDM came in the court in such a case connection, the advocates replied, “This is unfortunate. In such cases, SDM, SP, DM can not come. They were simply trying to influence the case”.
