Education according to Mahatma Gandhi not for getting ‘Jobs’ but to create ‘Job-Creators’ : Tripura CM

AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, Oct 2 (TIWN): “If the first Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru had followed Gandhism, not Socialism, today house-to-house jobs would be available by Job Creators”, such has been stated by Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Gandhi Jayanti while addressing at Rabindra Bhawan. CM said that Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi had a vision for Education which is not aimed to give one jobs but to able people to be self-dependent. “To able students to stand on own feet by being Swanirvar which in English means Job-creators, was Mahatma Gandhi’s vision for new India. He wanted to strengthen the villages but alas, the first PM did not follow Mahatma Gandhi. He blamed Jawaharlal Nehru for not following “Gandhism” but following “Socialism”, alleging this wrong decision of Jawaharlal Nehru is responsible for India’s distressed economy and reason why India could not stand on its own feet.“If Mahatma Gandhi’s ideologies were followed, then house to house jobs could be available today. People must had become job creators at a large number”, said CM.

“Mahatma Gandhi talked about giving more power to Panchayats. He wanted an Education system which would not just a way for employment but to make people self-dependent. But sadly, although Mahatma Gandhi told the first PM about his vision for nation but the then Prime Minister did not follow that. Otherwise India would had been a totally developed country already”, said CM.

Deb also blamed Jawaharlal Nehru for not giving importance to Mahatma Gandhi’s suggestion of small scale industries development and said, Gandhi’s vision for economy was started to be implemented by PM Modi. 

However, today through throughout India, there was an exchange of heating comments between BJP and Congress on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

When BJP Chief Minister Biplab Deb accused Congress for not following Mahatma Gandhi’s economic policies, Congress took a dig at BJP and RSS for divide and rule policy.

Tripura Congress aimed to hit BJP’s saffron party’s Hindutva ideology sat at Gandhighat with all religions’ people in their own attires and a person imitating Gandhijit’s look sat beside those various religions’ people to mark Gandhi’s ideology of unity and harmony.

While addressing at Rabindra Bhawan, CM Biplab Deb said accused the first Prime Minister of India, Freedom Fighter Jawaharlal Nehru for not following “Gandhism” but following “Socialism”, alleging this wrong decision of Jawaharlal Nehru is responsible for India’s distressed economy and reason why India could not stand on its own feet.

National Congress leader Bhupen Borah applauded Mahatma Gandhi’s non-violence, peace and truth based ideology.

He said, Congress will start massive movement to reach out the generation with Gandhi’s ideology which unites all religions.

At Delhi, Congress President Sonia Gandhi has heavily criticized BJP, RSS saying, “There are many to take name of Mahatma Gandhi but in activity they are divider but Gandhiji’s policy was only Love. Congress only walked on Gandhi’s path and it is Congress which can walk on Gandhi’s path even in future”.
