Agartala Sep 28 (TIWN): Tripura University is going to observe "Rashtriya Poshan Maah" on 30th September, 2019 at 2.00 PM in the MBB auditorium in line with the Govt. of India's "Poshan Maah" program of September, 2019.

It is an Abhiyan initiated by the Govt. of India to focus on five important components, First 1000 days of the chield, Anaemia, Diarrhoea, Hand Wash & Sanitation and Poshtik Aahar which aims to improve nutritional outcome in a holistic manner across the country.  The UGC has asked all the Universities to celebrate this program to bring behavioural change at the individual and community level at large.

The UGC also asked the university to host special programs for the students like safe drinking water, hand wash and sanitization to maintain cleanliness and hygiene and also to have balance/healthy diet. In this program, all the students, faculties and staffs of the University will be there and apart from them around 50 kids whose age below 3 years will be invited by the Tripura University along with their parents to sensitize about the importance of nutritional outcome among the community. Prof. Sangram Singha, Vice-Chancellor will preside over the program and Prof. Samir Sil as a chairperson of the program will also share the dais.
