AGARTALA, Sep 25 (TIWN): After Police cancelled CPI-M’s Dalit rally unpredictably on the peak of the rally’s motion, CPI-M Tripura General Secretary Gautam Das said, “Today’s incident has once again proven that Democracy is murdered already in Tripura and in which way, the BJP like to treat the Dalits it has also exposed”.

“Today huge numbers of Dalits and Women came to participate in the rally but cluelessly, the Police cancelled the rally led by SP West. This is unaccepted when the backward class wanted to place deputation to the Governor of a state”, Gautam Das told media.

“There were long discussions about rally and spot identification with police even till yesterday night. We agreed all the places which were instructed by the police, but when all were set to kick off the rally it was stopped. This is nothing but stopping Dalits to raise their voices”, said Das.

The statement of Gautam Das came after CPI-M’s rally was cancelled by police today on the peak of the moment when the rally was all set to march.

It was “Raj Bhawan Chalo” movement where Dalits rights issues, along with few more issues were scheduled to be raised by the CPI-M by placing 9 points of demands to the Governor of Tripura Ramesh Bais.
