LONGTARAI VALLEY (Tripura), Sep 24 (TIWN): As markets across Tripura and Agartala city failed to draw customers 10 days ahead of Durga puja, former CPI-M MP Jitendra Chaudhury has taken a dig at the BJP led State Govt asking if much hyped developments are happening in reality, why the over-crowed Hawkers corner where before Durga Puja No-Entries are given left without consumers today when Durga is about a week after ? Jitendra Chaudhury said that such crowded bazaars are today looking like ‘cremation grounds’. Jitendra Chaudhury, who is CPI-M’s indigenous wing Ganamukti Parishad's head was addressing at Longtarai Valley, said, “In Durga Puja all communities buy their traditional dresses in this state. Markets remain crowded all the time. Everyone buy dresses, other items for homes as per their owncapacity. Not only in main town but across rural areas people buy items. But everyone has only one voice under the BJP Govt that is Rang Kurui!â€
(Rang Kurui means "No Money" in tripura's local Kokborok language)
“Why people have no money today ? In CPI-M Govt’s time over 100 days MGNREGA works held and not only MGNREGA, various works took place under our Govt and at least 150 days of works were ensured by the previous CPI-M Govt”, said Jitendra Chaudhury.
The Marxist leader also hit BJP Govt for imposing fees in the Govt hospitals. He said, “Govt itself is fueled by public money, but this Govt has imposed fees on public. At little fever, now you have to pay Rs. 10 for entry in hospital, for blood test now pay Rs. 50, for stool Rs. 100, for oxygen Rs. 100 per / hour, for operation give Rs. 10,000” !
He further slammed the Govt accusing it for doing pre-poll fake promises of regularization and now resulted in terminations of massive numbers of existing employees.
“MLA, Ministers can get hiked salaries but only for poor people they have no money rather the BJP Govt is busy in taxing people in all means”, he said.
