AGARTALA, Sep 20 (TIWN): Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Friday has thanked BJP led state government for certifying previous CPI-M Govt for giving excess numbers of Govt jobs in its 35 years of total regime.

“I never knew that nationally we successfully gave highest percentage of Govt jobs. It’s amazing news actually. If it was a mistake it was nice mistake”, said Manik Sarkar.

Sarkar further said, “Yes we gave jobs because, Tripura till today has no industrialization, no other options before unemployed youths. So many youths are passing out every year. Where will they go ? If we can’t give them jobs, is not it our failure ? To whom will they go for jobs ?”

“CPI-M Govt aksi introduced various projects and for those projects also employees were needed. So we appointed. What’s the mistake ?”, said Manik Sarkar.

Manik Sarkar further heavily criticized the BJP Govt saying, it has planned to curb employment further via forcing employees to go in retirement based on work-performance.“My question is those who will evaluate Govt employees work-performance who will certify them ?”, asked Manik Sarkar.

The Marxist leader further reminded BJP Govt about BJP’s pre-poll promise of 50,000 Govt jobs’ in the first one year.
