AGARTALA, Sep 19 (TIWN): Revenue collection policy of Tripura Govt in exchange of “saving life” by Govt doctors is causing pathos across Government hospitals but the BJP led State Govt has turned a deaf ear. Since the BJP led State Government had drafted provisional revised tariffs of 14 hospital services and 286 bio-chemistry, pathological, radiological, digital and clinical tests, it is causing massive criticism. 18 month’s old BJP Govt's multiple anti-people decisions by immature, arrogant politicians are affecting the whole BJP party here, kicked off a fresh infighting among the BJP members themselves. Along with various anti-people’s decisions, hiking of Ministers’ salaries, Fortuner cars for Ministers etc left the BJP leaders and ground workers unanswerable before the masses.

The latest anti-people decision of scrapping free medical service has done the final damage followed by other taxes imposed on the public like cess on fuel, road-tax, electricity bill hikes.

Opposition parties CPI-M and Congress’s base further strengthened as resentment of public centering the Health Dept decision is fueling up not among the common men but also major section of ruling party supporters.  Tripura Govt has failed to restore 100% Free Medical Service in the Govt hospitals leading massive resentments.

This unfortunate decision against APL families depriving them from free-medical-service generated no-trust situation on the State Govt as APL families covering 80% to 90% of the population here and many poor are not having BPL cards in this poverty gripped state yet.

Since September 6 a Govt notification scrapped all Free Medical Services, statewide protests took place and many people deprive of medical service which included ‘death’ of a lower-middle-class man named Pramod Modok in the GB hospital, although Govt later  denied the charge and clarified that the whole notification was leaked which was never implemented. It was just a draft with various typing errors.

CPI-M, Congress are organizing statewide massive protest across Tripura, rattling the BJP Govt. On yesterday CPI-M’s protest rally broke a year-long record where people from hills to lands crowded the gathering of the rally, frustrating the ruling party’s enthusiasm ahead of the by-election. On the other side, opposition Congress is also holding a strong position and massive protests led by Congress centering the scrapping of free medical service has received huge mass supports.
