Agartala, October 27 (TIWN): On the sidelines of soaring inflation in local market of city, another scam has surfaced over dry fish supply by a local contractor through Chief Executive Officer of Fishery Department of a work worth Rupees one crore in Tripura here today.
The contractor Lakshman Das has emerged as a kingpin of the scam who has melted the mind of Chief Executive Officer Gouranga Chandra Sarkar through under table deals, where the government official couldn’t be held innocent totally.
Sarkar has been supplying the Rupees one crore government tender bid via illicit procedure to Das for a paltry sum of Rupees twelve lakhs only. The business scam is indirectly affecting the local retailers of dry fish in the city market, when several of the bunched goods were discovered in damaged condition after being unsealed at many shops.
However, as per source the information was revealed that Das has purchased the raw fishes at the price of Rupees twelve lakhs that weighs around 4500 kilograms, and were allotted for processed supply to Amarpur, Sonamura, Udaipur, Sadar, Khowai, Ambassa.
The case can outburst as another sting in state where widespread multi crore scams had already engulfed the governmental rapport with many tainted images surfacing every day. The raw material of the dry fish has been supplied from Teliamura subdivision office.
The godown where the processed material were stocked has become a point of highlighting another lump sum amounted scam in the state capital now.
