AGARTALA, Sep 10 (TIWN): Tripura Congress President Pradyot Deb Barman has demanded All Party Meeting in this ongoing issue over the BJP Govt’s inhuman decision of Free-Medical Service’s scrapping across Tripura Govt Hospitals.

Deb Barman said, Govt was supposed to provide quality health care, but instead of doing that now it has snatched basic health service’s right from the people.

He urged the BJP led State Govt to listen to the voice of the opposition.

“Instead of providing quality health care we are denying basic health care to the people of Tripura . I propose that as opposition we must demand an all party discussion on how to ensure that there is a rethink by the State Govt”, said the Congress President.

“The healthcare in the previous govt was in shambles we should be upgrading the system and making sure that medicines, doctors are available round the clock instead of simply putting a fee on the poor patients . Health care under govt should be obligatory to the citizens of the State . I appeal to the Govt to listen to the voices of opposition we also have a view, kindly as a democratic govt listen to us”, he added.

On yesterday Congress and other opposition parties came in heavy protest across Tripura reacting over Govt’s decision of imposing fees on the people in Govt hospitals burdening the poor and the middle-class-family.

Opposition, common men, media have demanded to resume the free-health-care service in the Government hospitals.
