AGARTALA, Sep 3 (TIWN): The biggest ever mass movement of the SSA teachers likely ahead in Tripura. This preparation has been started since Education cum Law Minister Ratanlal Nath clearly said in the Assembly that after September 2019 what will happen to the SSA, RMSA, it is under inspection. A source has informed that this protest will be the biggest protest of employees in Tripura. Education Minister Ratanlal Nath said that SSA, RMSA teachers are central govt employees and central govt already stopped funding for them whereas Tripura Govt extended their jobs till September and after that what will happen, it can not be said.

Understanding the depth of the situation, the SSA teachers’ association chief Bastab Debbarma told other teachers, “As you are all aware of the present condition of our job, my dear association members kindly keep our unity.I like to meet with all the association members (5608)because we are really in critical condition and in this situation what we have to do or not to do.Let us talk together and our association's decision will tell to the govt/department after the mass discussion through press meet”.

Before election, Ratan Lal Nath rushed to SSA’s hunger strike and promised them to be regularized if Govt changes. Also Nath yesterday said that Rs. 166 crores 16 lakhs and 86 thousands have been spent for them. This has erupted massive resentment among the SSA teachers.

On Assembly Day 3, Education Minister Ratanlal Nath said that SSA, RMSA teachers are central govt employees and central govt already stopped funding for them whereas Tripura Govt extended their jobs till September and their regularization is under legal process. He further said that Rs. 166 crores 16 lakhs and 86 thousands have been spent for them

It can be mentioned here, the SSA teachers were accompanied by all BJP leaders including Minister Ratanlal Nath before Assembly election during their movements. In 2017, during 7 days long hungers strike BJP and IPFT leaders visited the demonstration  place and sustained them with promise of regularization.

The SSA teachers are undergoing massive tension as this is September-2019 and according to Ratanlal Nath’s statement the deadline of their jobs are soon and State Govt has no fund right now sanctioned from the centre.
