AGARTALA / UDAIPUR, Sep 1 (TIWN): A new NDRF Assam Rifles Battalion was raised today at Udaipur, Gomati District Tripura.

Major General Balwinder Singh,Vishisht Seva Medal, Additional Director General Assam Rifles marked the Raising Ceremony by hoisting the  National Flag alongwith the Flags of Assam Rifles & NDRF. The General Officer addressed the newly raised Battalion which comprises of troops and Officers from various Assam Rifles Battalions  & elaborated upon the roles and tasks to be performed by them in various Disaster Response Situations.

The raising is likely to be completed by Feb 2020 after which the Battalion will be operationally deployed.
