AGARTALA, Aug 30 (TIWN): Problems, chaos erupted in IGM hospital after a 3 days old baby of Nabamita Das, Apu Das’s died.

The duty in negligence committed nurse has been identified as Jhumu Deb Das, resident of AD Nagar.

It’s had been an open secret that in night-times, the night-duty nurses switch off the lights and go in deep sleep but reports say nothing much developed there for the patient parties. Often the nurses are heard to ask the patient parties to go in private hospitals when extra care is asked. This has been the general scenario of IGM hospital in previous days and many more Govt hospitals but nothing much has changed yet.

No patient party is allowed inside almost all the hospitals for maximum hours and this rule was made for the patients’ health, but this this is massively misused by a large numbers of staffs.

Complaint has been lodged after this 3 days old baby died and the hospital staffs are quite unable to say when it died exactly. The complaint was lodged at West Agartala PS, later deployed by huge security in the hospital.

The baby was brought from ILS hospital in healthy condition and but in one night it died mysteriously.

Patients’ party alleged negligence in duty of the nurses who even though take Rs. 600 per day (totaling day / night duties) but at a time they take 10 to 12 patients under special duty.

Infact in case of the dead child no nurse was seen with her, alleged the patient party. Police complaint has been lodged and the patient party demanded action from the health dept. They also said, if needed they will go in mass-protest.
