AGARTALA, Aug 30 (TIWN): The much awaited DEMU train service will kick off on Saturday for the first time in Northeast state Tripura, likely to increase the frequency of trains by easing movements of regular passengers. Just before 3 years Tripura was connected by Broad Gauge service in 2016 and having now at least 5 Express trains and various local trains. Railway connectivity was expanded till Sabroom and now Belonia-Sabroom train service will start soon as Chief Safety Commissioner Sailesh Kumar Pathak has given “outstanding†grade about the tracks. Govt of Tripura has targeted to boost tourism via ease transport system and DEMU trains to be started from the 1st September (tomorrow) which will massively increase the frequency of trains in stations.Chief Minister Biplab Deb has called the people of the nation to visit Tripura and explore the beauty and heritage of it.Deb said that now Tripura Railway passengers will have trains at every half an hour once the DEMU train service begins.
He informed that from after 31st August 4 DEMU trains will be plying which will increase frequency of trains. At the same time, Tripura has various local trains and other trains as Shilchar-Agartala etc.By calculating the movements of trains, Chief Minister Biplab Deb said that at each 25 minutes of half an hour there will be trains in stations now.

Govt has given equal importance to the waterway projects. The ongoing project on Gomati river about port-ways establishment will be benefited if succeeded in coming days.
