KAILASHAHAR, Aug 14 (TIWN): Kailasahar airport is again going to be functional by 2021 after 30 years.
A meeting was organized in the conference hall of DM Unakoti on yesterday in this purpose. The representatives of AAI along with DM Unokuti discussed various issues regarding
upliftment of Kailasahar airport.
Kailashahar Airport was an airport located at Kailashahar in the state of Tripura, India. The airport was shut down in mid 1990 due to lack of space.
Under PM Modi's UDAN project, Airport Authority of India's Chief Dr. Guruprasad Mohapatra had visited Kailashahar Airport on December 15 and held meeting with the Chief Secretary Sanjeev Ranjan.UDAN (Regional Connectivity Scheme) is aimed to connect small cities with big cities and Tripura's Kailashahar's name has been entered under this UDAN project.
