AGARTALA, July 21 (TIWN): Congress’s women wing has conducted an internal party meting in the party headquarter today led by all women activists.

This meeting was done ahead of Panchayat Election. Sources informed that Congress is targeting to strengthen its women wing.

It can be mentioned here, strengthening of Women Congress cell was started since Pradyot Manikya became the party president. In June, 2019 he mentioned about importance of women empowerment in a party.

On that time, the Party President said, “Women are the backbone of our society ! While we all make tall claims of women empowerment the truth is we are guilty of all talk and no action”.

“I promise that when I do get to reconstitute the Congress in Tripura I will ensure that Women lead the way for the party in the state. These are from my recent visits to korbuk, Killa, Ompi, next is Surma, Raima Valley,Karamcherra ,Kamalpur,Pecharthal,Jolaibari,Manu,Udaipur,Kadamtala Kurti,Matabari,Sabroom,Mohanpur,Simna,Takarjala Sonamura and many more”, he said. 

Today also Pradyot Manikya has said the same. He was present in the meeting.
