AGARTALA, July 18 (TIWN): BJP National President cum Union Home Minister Amit Shah has asked CPI-M MP Jharna Das to join BJP, said CPI-M.

Jharna Das wanted to meet Amit Shah to discuss about the election related problems facing by CPI-M. In reply Amit Shah allegedly told her why she is in CPI-M, Communist party is dead in Indian and advised her to join BJP. In reply, Jharna Das said, if nobody stays in CPI-M, but she will stay with CPI-M and also said she wanted to meet him because he is the Home Minister, not because he is the Party President. CPI-M said in a statement, “Comrade Jharna Das CPI(M) Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament sought an appointment with the Home Minister Shri Amit Shah and met him in his office on July 17th, to give him a memorandum on the violence in Tripura unleashed by his party during the Panchayat election nominations and campaign. He said to her “ why are you with the CPI(M)? That party is finished. Come and join the BJP.” An angry Comrade Jharna replied “ I have come to meet you because you are the Home Minister.I have not come to meet the BJP President.Let me tell you even if there is a single person left in the CPI(M) I will be with the Party.. totally opposed to your ideology.” Amit Shah got a fitting reply!”
