Despite the ban imposed by the district administration on the open sale of crackers at public places, they are being sold. Most of the shopkeepers dealing in crackers are not license-holders. The markets have been flooded with Chinese lights and other items and since they are cheaper than the indigenous products, they are being sold like hot cakes.
