UDAIPUR,October 20 (TIWN): "India is a golden bird and it has the potentiality to become one of the greatest nations of the world. Nearly 30% scientists working in NASA are Indians. This is a clear indication that the resources of the country have not been properly utilized by the thinkers and rulers of the country ," with these words Governor of Tripura Padmanabhan Balakrishnan Acharya began his speech as the Inaugurator of the Tripurasundari Dance and Music Festival 2014 being organized in the Trilurasundari temple complex.

Governor inaugurated the Tripura Sundari Dance and Music Festival 2014 at 5.30pm today by lighting the candle. Minister for Jail and PG Deptt Manindra Reang was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Sabhadhipati of Gomati Zila Parishad Suniti Saha, Secretary of Information and Cultural Affairs Santanu Das and renowned artist Pandit  Srikumar Chattapadhya were present as Special Guests. Chairaman of MataBari Advisory Committee MLA Madhab Saha presided over the programme. DM Gomati Sonal Goel gave away the Welcome Address.

Speaking on this occasion Governor P B Acharya slammed the politicians and a section of industrialists. He said," Before independence many foreign rulers including the British looted our country and took its precious wealth in their own country. But after the Independence it is the politicians and a section of industrialists ,who looted the resources of India and the money they looted are kept in Switzerland." He said the Kings of Tripura even 500 years ago drugged lakes and ponds and now these have made Udaipur a 'Sarovar City'. Even in a developed state like Mumbai there is lack of pure drinking drinking water. He said," For the overall development of a society 3 ' E' are essential and these are Education, Employment and Electricity. India is rich but the people here are poor and similarly Tripura too is rich but her citizens are poor. This shows the wealth of the country country has not been utilized for social development." Governor urged the Minister Manindra Reang to take initiatives so that the tribals are educated. He said," There are so many talents among the tribals and these tribals have a very rich culture. It is by promoting their culture that we can hope for real development. Even an uneducated tribal in Tripura is much more capable in healing a person suffering from Diabetic. India has a tradition of Yoga and Ayurveda. And this traction should be maintained. "

Governor further stressed that temples like Tripurasundari temples should work as a social revolutionary centre. It should not remain its activities in Puja only. He said ," Each temple should have a.medical store, a library and orphanage. " In his speech the Governor said," It is really a matter of concern that the unity of our country is in danger. Let's be united and devoute ourselves for our country. If we become educated we have a debt towards the society. And the more educated we are the more is our duty towards the welfare of the society. I have requested many universities to introduce courses on regional languages. And from next year atleast 3 universities in the country will introduce courses in at least 5 regional languages."

Tripura along with entire North East is being surrounded by foreign nations and some of these countries are trying to create unstable situation in the north east. We must be careful about it and the beat thing that we can do is to help the tribals of the northeast to develop their standard of living. The tribals should be saluted for keeping their old tradition and vibrant culture. I have also requested the Chief Minister to take initiative to promote tribal culture. The entire northeast is vibrant. "

Governor mentioned that a few days back when he visited the Tripurasundari temple with his wife , he was stunned to see 25-30 tribal pilgrims sitting outside the temple. He said," I went to them and asked whether they got Prasad. But they replied that they were waiting for three hours and did not get any. This is not fair. Every temple must arrange Prasad for its pilgrims. I have visited many temple across the country and there are arrangement for Prasad. Accordingly I suggested the DM Gomati to look in to this matter." And Governor's initiative made its impact and the DM Sonal Goel declared that from Monday Tripurasundari Temple advisory committee has introduced Rs 1 /- Prasad coupon for all the devotees.
