AGARTALA, October 20(TIWN): In-Change Director General Police (DGP) of Tripura K. Nagaraj inaugurated the newly built new capital complex police station at capital complex, here today. Speaking in the inaugural ceremony I/C Director General Police (DGP) said the police have to maintain a good relation with the peoples. He further mentioned that the main objective of the police is to maintain law and order properly in the state.
He further informed that, wearing of full helmets is compulsory. If anyone found without wearing full helmets he/she will be fined with Rs.2500. If the same person found without wearing full helmets he/she will be fined with Rs.5000.
In the previous year’s many people died in road mishap because the people did not wear full helmets. The number of road mishap has been decreased after the introduction of full helmets. In September a total of 40 road mishaps were registered which is less than the road mishaps occurred in the previous months, i/c DGP mentioned.
IGP (law and order) Anurag Dhankar and other top officials of police were present in the inaugural ceremony.
It is to be mentioned here that, Tripura has 67 police stations and 37 outposts. According to a police official, recruitment of 300 women constables and 58women sub inspectors will be undertaken for appointing more women personnel in police stations. Besides, two more women police station will be opened one at Kailasahar and another one at Beloni.
At present only three women police stations exists one at west Agartala one at east Agartala and another one at Udaipur
