KAILASAHAR, Oct. 18, (TIWN): 14 families including Parimal Shil, Sabita Malakar are living the life of foreigner in own mother land. They even cannot adopt bare necessities of life like sanitation and waste management system. Several times they knocked to the administration and political parties but with no result.

Their main problem is of life and livelihood. If the fencing is continued on the latest alignment, then the houses and firm lands of those 14 families will be outside the birbed wire fencing. Now in the dilemma, they are not being able to build even their own houses and living like refugees. If the fencing is built on the zero line then their property will be intact. The then DMs Soumya Gupta, Abhisek Chandra several times visited the spot. The effected people also agreed to leave their properties and move to alternate locations. But they demanded due compensation and assurance of re-settling from the part of the Govt. But the administration is under extreme dilemma to take any decision. And all this resulted into an open unfenced Indo-Bangla border of 200 metres. The BSF has to protect the area round the clock. What is a pity is that, the District Administration  is yet to make any decision about the fate of 14 families.
