AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, June 3 (TIWN): Tripura's Law & Order plunged to utter chaos as BJP goons now targeted extortion from Congress, CPI-M supporter families. Even after Chief Minister Biplab Deb’s instruction to the miscreants who are attacking public under cloths of ruling party, there is no respite from the notorious elements of the society in Tripura and ahead of Eid thus there are only tensions prevailing in the state. At Chief Minister’s constituency, house to house notices have been pasted on the main gates, demanding donations from the people of Sirlanka Basti in Agartala. The incident took place under none other than at 9-No Banamalipur constituency today and maximum families are minority. Ahead of Eid, this incident has erupted resentment and tension among the locals. The amount sought from the families are Rs. 20000, Rs. 50000 even Rs. 1 lakh.
East Agartala Police visited the spot and also registered complaints. Women Congress leaders, under instruction of Congress State President Pradyot Manikya also visited the houses and talked to the families.
All the affected families belong to Congress, said the Congress leaders.Congress women activists also visited the East Agartala Police station and submitted a complaint about this.
The attacks started as soon as State Govt took the charge after vote result out scripting a history of Tripura-Violence. However, after Chief Minister’s warning violence rate has decreased but the miscreants are now not even leaving BJP families, just on yesterday at Chandipur a BJP family was attacked.
They have only one message, “We will not kill you. Just give us the asked amount”.
5 unnatural deaths due to the post poll violence till now has been reported.
Over 200 families , houses were affected in post poll violence. On yesterday Congress president Pradyot Manikya visited Mungiakami where the Govt had to impose Section 144.
Due to law and order problems, tensions continue to fuel across the state. One Minister Sudip Barman was sacked from the cabinet and few BJP hooligans were seen celebrating in night hours for the Minister’s termination but no action was taken against them.
CPI-M delegates also have visited affected areas in post poll violence. On 23rd May 2019 at night BJP hooligans vandalised the house of lawyer Minhaz Alan at Joynagar. CPI-M advocates visited there today.
